Candler County is part of the Ogeechee Judicial Circuit. Candler Superior Court has exclusive felony and general jurisdiction. Candler State Court handles misdemeanors and traffic within its jurisdiction. Magistrate Court addresses warrants, first appearances, and other matters assigned by statute. Metter Municipal Court separately handles city ordinance, traffic, and authorized limited cases. Searching only one of these court channels can miss a valid file in another venue.
Clerk Jenny Grimes is the public official responsible for the local court counter. The county says the Clerk manages Superior, State, Juvenile, and Magistrate proceedings, while the state clerk directory lists Superior, State, and Juvenile. That published difference is a reason to call before assuming how a Magistrate record is indexed. Court records answer what the state filed and how the judge resolved it. A sheriff narrative or jail intake entry answers a different question.

Candler Court Jurisdiction Map
Venue is the first useful filter. A felony prosecution belongs in Superior Court. A misdemeanor or traffic prosecution may belong in State Court. Searching Candler County Case Records
The Georgia AOC E-Access directory lists both Candler Superior and State Court, then routes users to PeachCourt. E-Access is a directory rather than one statewide case index. PeachCourt expressly requires a provider account, so its live search fields, costs, result columns, document downloads, and update schedule were not publicly verifiable.
- Choose the likely court from the charge level, issuing agency, or citation. Check Metter Municipal Court separately for a city matter.
- Use E-Access to confirm the participating provider, then open PeachCourt if an account is available.
- When the provider is unavailable, give the Clerk a defendant name, case number, filing year, and charge or document type. Supply a date of birth only if the office accepts it.
- Request the index or docket first. Then identify the accusation or indictment, motions, judgment, sentence, or other pages actually needed.
- Ask the price before ordering and request certification only when an authenticated court copy is necessary.

Rejecting the Middle Circuit Error
Two manifest captures reflect an earlier, incorrect research trail. Candler County is not in the Middle Judicial Circuit, and middleda.org is not the proper prosecutor source. The current local court text must use the Ogeechee Judicial Circuit and its prosecutor. Exact current Ogeechee prosecutor and public-defender contacts remain an identified research gap rather than a reason to guess.

How a Criminal Case Moves
The clerk file begins when a matter is filed, not merely when an officer makes an arrest. A prosecutor can change, add, or decline charges. Court entries then document hearings, pleas, motions, trial activity, the final disposition, and any sentence. A missing court case may mean no filing occurred, the venue is wrong, the matter is too new, or access is restricted.

The filing-to-disposition path is why an initial booking label should never be reported as the final charge. Compare the accusation or indictment with the judgment. For a GCIC mismatch, secure the court or prosecutor documentation needed by the submitting agency.
Certified Candler Court Documents
Candler Juvenile, Magistrate, State, and Superior courts participate in GSCCCA eCertification. Ordering requires a GSCCCA universal account. The public Authentication Code box and Lookup button only verify a certified document after issuance. They are not a defendant-name or case-number search.

Candler Federal Case Boundary
Federal cases are separate. Candler County lies in the Statesboro Division of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Georgia. PACER contains federal dockets and documents, not Candler Superior or State Court cases. As inspected July 17, 2026, PACER charges $0.10 per page and waives quarterly fees of $30 or less. An announced January 1, 2027 change raises those figures to $0.12 per page and a $40 quarterly threshold.

Case Record Access and Restrictions
The Georgia Open Records Act governs access to existing executive-agency records, subject to exemptions, but a court clerk's files also follow judicial rules and practices. A county administrative request portal is not a substitute for a certified court copy. Juvenile matters, sealed files, protected victim information, and redacted identifiers may not appear in ordinary public results.
Georgia record restriction and court sealing are related but distinct. Restriction under O.C.G.A. ยง35-3-37 suppresses qualifying GCIC dissemination; it does not automatically erase every source document.
